What are my options?
- Should I place my child with an adoptive family?
- Is adoption my only option?
- How can I know what is the best decision for me and my child?

The decision to move forward with placing your child with another family is a difficult, sensitive, and delicate process. Finding someone that you can trust to discuss your options with is very important. The Family Center of Hope is dedicated to assisting you in making this difficult decision through our Options Counseling.

During the Options Counseling process, you will meet with a trained staff member whose primary goal is to provide you with information on your options and assist you in making the best choice for you and your baby.

Will my child be placed in foster care?

Placing your child in foster care is an option that is available to you.  However, The Family Center of Hope does not accept custody of children or place children in foster care.  You will have the option to select the family for your child or you may ask the agency to select for you based solely on your preferences.  Your child will go directly home with the adoptive family.

Will I be able to meet and choose the adoptive parents for my child?

Yes! You may select your child’s adoptive parents. You tell us what characteristics are important to you in a family (i.e., race, religion, age, other children, etc.) and we will present profiles of families that match what you are looking for. You will have an opportunity to meet families and make your selection.
